WHAT IS THE AEQUUS SYSTEM AND RGM TRAINING + PILATES?
The Aequus System has as its main pillar, education and standardized postural hygiene of high quality, which is adapted to the needs and / or pathologies of customers, which seeks a correct ergonomics, RGM Quality seal of quality. We go from the pathological field to functional training at the highest level, from prevention, compensation, rehabilitation, recovery of musculoskeletal pathologies to strengthening and prevention of sports injuries.
“The Aequus System with RGM Training restores functionality to our body.”
As a preventive element, it avoids visits to specialists, since it involves a healthy lifestyle, and as a readaptation system, it achieves the improvement of the patient-client to avoid relapses or pathologies derived from vices acquired by a previous pathology, (in the improvement of healthy life habits, nutrition and personalized dietetics should also be included, and physiotherapists specialized in the functional understanding of the body).
WHY DO WE TALK ABOUT AEQUUS SYSTEM, OR RGM Training, PHYSICAL EDUCATION, OR FUNCTIONAL TRAINING ...... AND NOT "PILATES"?
Pilates” does not have a common and regulated training, nor does it have a quality standard, nor a common objective, it works from an individual class, to groups of 50 people or more, “instructors” are formed watching a 5 minute internet video, to courses with more than 500 hours and years of training, it works from a health perspective, or entertainment, to high level training, with machinery and adequate material, or without means to help, progress and modify exercises, without levels or differentiation of clients, to centers with 6 levels and specialization of classes, with music and without music, with anatomic-pathological knowledge, or without any knowledge, and a long etc. And all this is Pilates and no one has the power to remove or put the word Pilates from the activity performed by some or others, whatever its quality.
Pilates, Yoga or Swimming are highly recommended activities in the Socio-Health field to help reduce or eliminate the pain of many pathologies and injuries, these activities may or may not be “low impact”, but they do not work, from the concept of returning the overall functionality to the body, from the prevention, rehabilitation or recovery of pathologies, understanding the body as a whole, they can even be counterproductive and / or harmful. At Estudio Aequus We seek excellence in health through RGM Training and physical activity, we have standardized quality, both in training and in the work system, with the sole objective of providing it to your body and its health, so we prefer not to speak, in most cases, of products without standardized guarantee and thus not refer in terms of “good or bad Pilates”, Estudio Aequus and its work system with the RGM Quality seal, represent “the brand” in health through movement.
To be a good health professional, whether a doctor, physiotherapist, etc … you need years of studies and experience, so for the treatment of health through movement, we also need professionals who are up to the complexity of our body and its needs. For this reason we collaborate directly with medical specialists: Rehabilitation Doctors, Traumatologists, Rheumatologists, Gynecologists, Endocrinologists, Sports Medicine and Children’s Medicine, who recommend us to their patients.
WHAT ARE THE APPLICATIONS AND BENEFITS OF THE SYSTEM AND RGM Training + PILATES?
90% of our clients come to the Center referred by physicians or physiotherapists. We work with similar principles to active physiotherapy and rehabilitative medicine, but we do not focus on the injury, but work more holistically in improving the whole body, progressing and herradicating the injury and pain.
After an intervention, visit to the doctor or physiotherapist and under his recommendation, the applications of his work are multiple.
- Tendinous Muscles: Tendinitis, cervical pain, contractures, back pain, imbalance syndrome, patellar syndrome, fibrillar rupture, ….
- Osteoarticular: Fissures, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, arthrosis, arthritis, disc herniations and protrusions, calcifications, meniscus rupture,…
- Ligamentous: ligament strains and tears, patellar deviation,….
- Nerves: spina bifida, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica …
- Misalignments: Scoliosis, hyperlordosis, hyperkyphosis, …
- Others: Physical and postural work, muscle shortening in children and adolescents. Pregnancy and postpartum work. Pulmonary work; oxygenating the body, learning to breathe and use the thorax. Release stress and reduce or eliminate the pathologies that are somatized by it, headaches, vomiting, migraines, diarrhea.
WHY AEQUUS SYSTEM and RGM Therapy?
Studies confirm that musculoskeletal injuries account for more than 80% of illnesses whether one leads a sedentary or an active lifestyle. Injuries caused largely by the bodies’ inability to put into practice the theories of body hygiene, ergonomics and risk prevention.
“With preventive physical work, many of the common pathologies would not cause present or future pain.”
We lack good health and postural hygiene, both in our private, sporting and working lives. We need a balanced, functional and physically prepared body to carry it out.
Swimming, Pilates or Yoga, activities that do not work specifically on the pathology or needs, are not rehabilitative and/or do not have the supervision of a professional who knows how to read the body, adapt the sequences, progressions or modify the exercises correctly, to achieve optimal physical preparation, rehabilitation or recovery, are usually advised.
Strengthening is not enough. In a lumbar hernia, for example, we need to generate an intervertebral space, tone the entire transversus abdominis and obliques symmetrically to create a muscular girdle that is also flexible; in addition to giving joint mobility to the entire spine, breathe correctly and work the body giving it muscular balance, as well as a correct alignment, supported by all of the above, which avoids relapse in the root that caused the injury and minimize or eliminate pain.
“Our system achieves a capable body.”
WHAT IS OUR SUBSIDIZED COURSE PROGRAM FOR GENERAL WORKERS?
After a musculoskeletal assessment, we explain and advise the student which of the programs to follow. These programs seek to offer maximum health, quality of life to our body and prevent possible pathologies that generate pain and lack of quality of life. Classes will be conducted in groups of a maximum of 10 workers. If possible with similar physical conditions; pregnant, postpartum, pain level or physical capacity.
“We should all be users of proper physical education.”
Two hours a week M/X or M/J are enough to achieve a considerable improvement of the pathology and the pain it causes in a period of between one and three months, depending on the client. In most cases we also obtain a good physical condition, improved health and postural hygiene.
Programs
Delivery of didactic material
Musculoskeletal assessment
Thoracic cage mobility (breathing)
Neutral column
Mobility of the spine
Elasticity
Alignment (footprint, shoulders, pelvis, etc.)
Body awareness
Toning
There is much that can be done in the area of prevention, education and awareness to significantly reduce the risks of pathologies in workers.
WHY ARE ERGONOMICS COURSES INSUFFICIENT?
Sedentary work is characterized by a lack of physical movement, as well as by an enormous strain on the central nervous system. Working in front of a screen often leads to a contracted posture, resulting in back pain, eye discomfort, fatigue, etc.
65% of workers who suffer from postural discomfort associate these problems with the furniture. Companies look for the solution in the improvement of the furniture, an absurd expense if it is not complemented by the improvement of the quality of movement and postural hygiene, which is mechanized with the Aequus System and the RGM Trainnig + Pilates.
In addition to the physical effort involved, heavy work can lead to a sedentary situation and then to a great effort, such as a policeman who, after sitting in a patrol car for hours, has to start running in a few tenths of a second. Standing upright, sitting in a car or on a motorcycle, sitting on a chair, then making a great physical effort… all of this will favor spinal pathologies aggravated, as we have said, by the weight to be carried or by sudden physical reactions.
Much can be done in the area of prevention, education and awareness to significantly reduce the risks of disease in those who have a sedentary job.
WHAT SPECIAL CLASSES OR SPECIALIZED TREATMENTS DO WE HAVE?
In Estudio Aequus we work by rhythms, difficulty, intensities, support points and levels, a priori almost all bodies and needs can be “filtered” in one of the 90 groups, in the different schedules, however, looking for excellence we have some more specific groups if possible. Both in the Semiprivate classes of machines and in Floor with Pilates complements, the segmentation by levels, even by objectives, assures the correct evolution of each student, and in the most complex cases, private classes with Pilates machines.
SPECIAL Classes
SCOLIOSIS
This pathology can be corrected at an early age, and in some cases it can even be fully rehabilitated to some degree.
At any age, a symmetrical body work in the deep and stabilizing musculature will help the body to create its own “muscular girdle”, which, combining elasticity and a correct and indicated mobility in the spine, will release tensions, improving the posture and that our body manages to stabilize our scoliosis.
GROWTH, CHILDREN
Growing children and adolescents need to have their physical condition and body alignment monitored. It is in those moments when we need to have the peace of mind of knowing that we are in good hands. Our children can grow up with poor postural hygiene. A poorly executed exercise is a continuous muscular and body misalignment. A weak abdominal girdle is a sore back. It is time to share your body care education with your children.
Pregnancy Classes
In a stage where the body undergoes so many changes, it is necessary to correctly adapt the training system to each of the trimesters of pregnancy. We help you live a conscious pregnancy and understand the changes that occur in your body, both physically and emotionally. Prepare your body to welcome your baby and enjoy being a mom.
Post-partum classes
After quarantine, we can and should get our bodies in tune for our greatest adventure, becoming mothers. Our teachers are trained to get your body back in good physical condition, without trauma or stress to our muscles and joints. In a short time we will be able to resume our daily life where we left off, even in a better physical condition.
ELDERLY PEOPLE
If at any time we cannot stop listening to our body, it is after a certain age. It is then when we have to consider a maintenance program that meets our special needs to improve, prolong our quality of life and well-being as long as possible. At Estudio Aequus we adapt these programs to the needs of the elderly.
“If you have a stiff back at 30 you are an old man, if you have a fully flexible back at 60, you are still young” J.P.
WHAT IS THE PELVIC FLOOR OR PERINEUM?
Before knowing for what and when we should go to a physiotherapist specializing in pelvic floor we must be clear about what it is, since it is a “forgotten” component of our body and has a fundamental role in many of our vital functions. Many people, especially those who have not had any problems with this part of their body, respond to the question about treatments for pelvic floor with Kegel exercises, these exercises alone can not solve most problems or dysfunctions that presents the perineum, for this you must perform an exploration, always in the hands of a professional in this field and plan a personalized treatment for each patient.
The pelvic floor is the set of muscles, ligaments and bones located at the base of the pelvis that support the bladder, rectum and uterus. These muscles can be differentiated in two planes:
- Superficial plane in which the muscles that form it extend from front to back between the pubis and coccyx, laterally between the ischia. They draw a kind of figure eight that crosses at the level of an area called the tendinous center of the perineum. The main function of these muscles is sexual and they also help support the viscera.
- Deep plane. These muscles form the highest plane, above the superficial muscles and are closer to the viscera. The whole is dome-shaped, convex downward, concave upward. This superior concavity opposes that of the diaphragm muscle, hence its name “pelvic diaphragm”.
These muscles and ligaments must be in good condition and function properly since they contain very important viscera such as the bladder and rectum, and in the case of women also the uterus and vagina, while in men, the prostate.
And… What are its functions?
- Support of the abdomino-pelvic viscera, such as the bladder, vagina, uterus and rectum, and of the baby in case of pregnancy.
- Continence. Controls the opening and closing of the sphincters in both urination and defecation.
- Reproductive function. It is the last barrier that the baby must make before the moment of delivery, thanks to these muscles the baby’s head rotates and the urge to push is provoked.
- Sexual function. It enables some processes of sexual action such as pleasure, orgasm,…
