Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose Estudio Aequus?
At Estudio Aequus we are committed to your body and your health, our RGM Physiotherapy system is totally focused on improving your quality of life, with a holistic and multidisciplinary work. We offer you a very high quality experience that you will not find in other centers on the island.
We offer classes and therapeutic exercise in private, small and group classes at 8 levels of learning, from Global Rehabilitation in Movement to clinical Pilates.
Our commitment is to improve your health, as well as prevent, palliate, soften or attenuate the pathology and pain you are suffering, consolidating it over time with a non-invasive system.
Therefore, we look for the root of the problem and act on it, striving for the patient’s full reintegration into his or her daily life. We help our patients to mechanize healthy movements and have a correct postural hygiene in their daily life.
What is the duration of the sessions?
We cannot accurately estimate the duration of physical therapy sessions, as it will always depend on the needs of each patient. Each pathology is different and is influenced by a multitude of individual patient factors, so each need will be different.
On average, sessions usually last between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
How many sessions will I need?
First we need to know your pathology through a thorough anamnesis in order to know approximately how many sessions will be necessary. We must know the causes, symptoms and factors that influence the patient’s life in order to guide an effective treatment for him/her .
What specialized treatments will I find at the clinic?
In addition to all physiotherapy treatments in Estudio Aequus we work by rhythms and levels. A priori almost all the bodies and needs can be “filtered” into one of the 90 groups, in the different schedules. However, in search of excellence we have some more specific groups if possible. In both Semi-private machine and floor classes, the segmentation by levels, even by objectives, ensures the correct evolution of each patient.
Scoliosis
This pathology can be corrected at an early age, and in some cases it can even be totally rehabilitated in certain degrees.
At any age, a symmetrical body work in the deep and stabilizing musculature will help the body to create its own “muscular girdle”, which, combining elasticity and a correct and indicated mobility in the spine, will release tensions, improving the posture and that our body manages to stabilize our scoliosis.
Growth of children
Growing children and adolescents need to have their physical condition and body alignment monitored. It is in those moments when we need to have the peace of mind of knowing that we are in good hands. Our children can grow up with poor postural hygiene. A poorly executed exercise on a continuous basis is a muscular and body misalignment. A weak abdominal girdle is a sore back. It is time to share your body care education with your children.
Hypopressives
Hypopressive Abdominal Gymnastics, depending on the case accompanied by Indiba Activa CT9, is an ideal therapy for pelvic floor problems, diastasis, hernias, lack of abdominal tone, in individual classes in consultation or in group classes in the room, this activity improves abdominal strength without pressure on the pelvic floor.
Pregnancy classes
In a stage where the body undergoes so many changes, it is necessary to correctly adapt the training system to each of the trimesters of pregnancy. We help youlive a conscious pregnancy and understand the changes that occur in your body, both physically and emotionally. Prepare your body to welcome your baby and enjoy being a mom.
Postpartum classes
After quarantine, we can and should get our bodies in tune for our greatest adventure, becoming mothers. Our teachers are trained to get your body back in good physical condition, without trauma or stress to your muscles and joints. In a short time we will be able to resume our daily life where we left off, even in a better physical condition.
Senior citizens
If at any time we cannot stop listening to our body, it is after a certain age. It is then when we have to consider a maintenance program that meets our special needs to improve, prolong our quality of life and well-being as long as possible. At Estudio Aequus we adapt these programs to the needs of the elderly.
Why are ergonomics courses insufficient?
Sedentary work is characterized by a lack of physical movement and an enormous strain on the central nervous system. Working in front of a screen often leads to a contracted posture and, as a result, back pain, eye discomfort, fatigue, etc.
65% of workers who suffer from postural discomfort associate these problems with the furniture. Companies look for the solution in the improvement of furniture, an absurd expense if it is not complemented by the improvement of the quality of movement and postural hygiene, which is mechanized with the Aequus System and Aequus Pilates.
In addition to physical exertion, heavy work can lead to a sedentary situation and then to a great deal of exertion. Like a policeman who, after sitting in a patrol car for hours, has to start running in tenths of a second. Standing upright, sitting in a car or on a motorcycle, sitting on a chair, then making a great physical effort… all of this will favor spinal pathologies aggravated, as we have said, by the weight to be carried or by sudden physical reactions.
Much can be done in the area of prevention, education and awareness to significantly reduce the risks of disease in those who have a sedentary job.
